About
I'm Collin, a video editor and post producer based in Knoxville. I've spent the last nine years behind the camera and in the edit: starting at Haven Media, running my own wedding film business, and now leading shoots and post at The Skvara Agency.
I care about the stuff people feel but can't always name: the timing of a cut, a grade that holds together across a whole project, a mix where nothing fights for attention. I'm just as comfortable owning a project solo as I am taking direction inside a creative team, and I'll finish someone else's cut without ego - the point is the piece, not whose timeline it started on. I build the schedule early and raise a problem early, which is usually why things land on time.

Brief & Plan
Understand the goal, the audience, and the deliverables before anything gets shot or cut.
Ingest & Organize
Consistent naming conventions, a proxy/optimized media strategy, and media that is backed up and retrievable.
Edit
Story and pacing first: build the structure, then refine it.
Color
Establish the look, then hold it: a consistent grade across the whole project, log to Rec.709.
Sound
Fairlight mixes balancing dialogue, music, and SFX, with platform-specific loudness targets.
Finish & Deliver
Platform-specific export specs, captions and subtitles.
Archive & Handoff
Clean project archives and handoffs so anyone can pick it back up.
Developing Editors
- Notes that transfer, not just notes that fix: I tell an editor why a cut is not landing, so the next one comes back better.
- Review other editors' cuts for pacing, structure, and brand consistency, and keep that standard the same across everyone.
- Share the technique behind the fix - the grade, the mix move, the timeline setup - so it becomes something the team owns.
- Finish other people's work without ego: my job is to make the piece better regardless of who cut the majority of it.
Running Post
- Build the post schedule off the brief, then flag risk early enough to protect the work instead of absorbing it at the deadline.
- Own the pipeline across concurrent projects: milestones, editing tasks, and who is picking up what.
- Manage schedules, shot lists, and subcontracted crew, including a drone pilot on a recurring client content package.
- Build repeatable workflows and cheat sheets - pass-off standards, naming conventions, review stages, finishing checklists - so the team works faster and more consistently.
- Troubleshoot technical problems - corrupted optimized media, plugin performance bottlenecks - before they hit a deadline.
AI, Used Responsibly
I use AI where it actually helps, like upscaling and cleanup in Topaz Video AI and Photo AI or AI-assisted virtual staging for real estate stills, and never as a substitute for taste.

2023 – PresentLead Videographer & Lead Editor / Knoxville, TN
- Lead post-production for commercial and social clients across construction, fitness, medical, and design, from ingest to final delivery.
- Edit, color, and mix end to end in DaVinci Resolve, including Fusion motion graphics and detailed Fairlight audio mixes.
- Review other editors' cuts and give notes that explain the why, not just the fix, keeping the team's work consistent and on-brand.
- Built standardized social delivery workflows: proxy media strategy, bus routing with sidechain ducking, loudness targets, naming conventions, and export specs.
- Manage recurring content schedules across concurrent projects, including shot lists for a subcontracted drone pilot, and lead shoots myself when a project calls for it.
